Whales watching
Note for adventure seekers: every year humpback whales visit our region in between mid December to mid April. Although no encounter with SUP excursions have been recorded, many have had the chance in the past to closely observe whales with their newborn in their natural habitat.

The ‘‘wave season’’ in the Dominican Republic is between the months of October and April and surprisingly not crowded most of the time. The top 3 spots close to Sunrise Villa (excluding secret ones) are:

Fly over water with foil (aka hydrofoil)
Hydrofoils were originally patented in 1963 for water skis however it is in the early 2000’s that living legend & pro rider Laird Hamilton started adapting hydro-foil for surf and other wave riding sports such as SUP and kiteboarding.
Does this looks easy? (Video) well it is not! However it is a lot of fun once you get the hang of it and our selected providers will make sure to accelerate your learnings with the proper guidance and…. tow boat to start.
